Farm Credit Services of North Dakota announced that for a second time they will not pass on the Federal Reserve interest rate increase to its variable rate customers. This is Pat-NOW in action, passing real cost savings onto our customers immediately!
In December 2017, the Federal Reserve announced a rate increase of 25 points (.25%). This directly impacted our borrowing costs, but Farm Credit Services of ND was able to hold this rate increase and not pass it onto our customers, providing immediate patronage. Now for a 2nd time in 2018, we have held rates.
How much does this mean for our loan customers? The average loan size customer will save an estimated $1700 per year, not only in 2018, but every year going forward. Your interest rate savings may be more or less depending on your loan size.
Farm Credit Services of North Dakota continues to be the low interest rate leader in northwest and north central North Dakota. We are proud to be a cooperative working for our customers, and that means giving back on a consistent basis with our Pat-NOW philosophy of low rates.
We strive hard to manage the expenses of our business to benefit our cooperative owners. The loan customers of FCS of ND directly benefit from this action, but more than that, all producers in our territory see other lenders trying to keep pace by keeping their rates lower.
